Quote enhancements - Feb 2023
Release Notes - 13 Feb 2023
This week, some new features in Magnetize are being released to help with quoting. We have prioritised these by the feedback we have received so far. Have a look and let us know what you think.
Briana, Product Designer @Magnetize
In this release:
- Accept quotes on behalf of your customer
- Edit quote expiry dates
- Add a quote description
- Expand/hide ratebook bundles on quotes
- Set job budgets
Accept quotes on behalf of your customer
You can now accept a quote in Magnetize on behalf of your customer — handy for when customers accept the quote verbally or by email reply.
You’ll notice that a record of who has accepted the quote in Magnetize on behalf of the customer will show in the Job Timeline. We recommend leaving a note (and even a screenshot too) about how the quote was accepted.
Edit quote expiry dates
You can now edit the default number of days your quotes will be valid for (e.g. 30 days), and update the expiry date on quotes when they expire.
A “quote expiring soon” email will remind your customer about the quote, one day before the quote expires, giving them a link to go ahead and accept it.
We realise that quotes are time-sensitive and your pricing can change, so after the quote has expired, your customer won’t be able to accept the quote anymore, but they can send you a query asking for the quote to be refreshed.
Add a quote description
You can now add a quote description to your quote with details about the job.
Show/hide ratebook bundles on quotes
This was a popular request! Now when you’re building your quote with a bundle, just click on the top row (with the bundle's name) to show or hide the individual ratebook items. The quote will update accordingly.
When it comes to reconciling logs for the invoice, the system is smart enough to remember if you wanted to show or hide the bundle line items for your customer, so that your invoice will match the quote.
Set job budgets
You can now create job budgets in Magnetize for your team to see consumables on the job where there is no quote required.
On the job details tab, ensure the “Quote required” toggle is off, head over to the “Budget” tab and build your budget in the same way you would a quote. Your budget is saved and updated automatically for your team to see with consumables in the mobile app.
